| FY2005 | TOTO Water Environment Fund was established. Called for applications from organizations engaging in water-related environmental activities in Japan. Funding started. |
| FY2007 | As part of TOTO's 90th anniversary commemorative project, the total amount of grants increased, the grant period was lengthened, and the activity area of organizations to fund was expanded to the entire Asia. |
| FY2009 | The activity area of applying organizations was expanded to the entire world. |
| FY2013 | Introduced a system that calculates the amount of funding based on the past record of environmental contribution of the stakeholders. |
| FY2016 | As part of TOTO's 100th anniversary commemorative project, the total amount of grants increased, and the grant period was lengthened. |
| FY2017 | Multiple-year funding was introduced for organizations in Japan. |
